These terms are meant to be read, not endured. Using Return means you agree to them.
What Return is, and isn't
Return is a mindfulness tool that offers a pause at the doorway of the apps you choose. It is not therapy, not medical or mental-health care, and not a crisis service. If you are in distress, please reach out to a qualified professional or a crisis service — in the U.S. and Canada, call or text 988; elsewhere, your local emergency number.
Who it's for
Return is intended for adults.
The written and AI content
Return's pauses include written lines, and — when you enable it — conversation written by an AI (Claude, from Anthropic). AI-written words can be imperfect or wrong. They are prompts for your own reflection, not advice or instruction; your judgment stays yours.
The AI connection and cost
Return works with no AI at all. If you connect it:
- Your own API key: usage is billed by Anthropic directly to your key, under Anthropic's terms. Return never sees or stores your usage.
- An invite code: access runs on a shared budget as a courtesy. Please use it in good faith; invite codes can be rate-limited or revoked to keep the budget fair for everyone.
No warranty
Return is provided as-is, without warranties. A background pause app depends on your device's own behavior — battery managers, permissions, and system limits can affect whether a pause appears — and that part is outside Return's control.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec, Canada.
